Research and Data

Due to its strong academic links, research is a key area of focus. ACRIPOD will work to co-ordinate research activities on cannabis in the continent, as well as undertake research activities on cannabis related issues from a multi-disciplinary approach.

Policy Development Africa

Policy Development

ACRIPOD seeks to have a strong policy focus and works to advise on, and inform the formulation of national policies on cannabis for Member States in Africa.

Teaching and Capacity Building

ACRIPOD seeks to build the capacities of stakeholders relevant to effective and sustainable cannabis management through short-term training programs in specific areas. ACRIPOD will also collaborate with various international partners, such as UNODC, Prohibition Partners, University of Witwatersrand Cannabis Research Initiative, Ghana Narcotics Authority to organise training programmes for public officials and social partners in the continent.
ACRIPOD Advocacy

Advocacy

Key among the relevant areas of focus is knowledge enhancement and adequate advocacy; public awareness on the pros and cons of cannabis use to dispel the negative rhetoric while highlighting the possible risks associated with the abuse of cannabis.
